Nova verzija PCLinuxOS-a, 2009.1, je ugledala svetlo dana

Novi "PCLOS" dolazi sa 2.6.26.8.tex3 kernelom, KDE 3.5.10, Open Office 3.0, Firefox 3.0.7, Thunderbird 2.0.0.14, Ktorrent, Frostwire, Amarok, Flash, Java JRE, Compiz-Fusion 3D i još mnogo toga. Kažu da će kao opciju ubaciti KDE4 "kad ga stabilizuju"

PClinuxOS 2010 je ugledao svetlost dana.
Izašao je u verzijama KDE desktop, Gnome Desktop, Gnome ZenMini Desktop, LXDE desktop i Xfce desktop.





KDE verzija nam donosi sledeće:

Novo izdanje popularne Linux distribucije, PCLinuxOS 2010.07, je upravo objavljeno, i to u KDE i Gnome verziji. Nova verzija uključuje najnovije verzije popularnih aplikacije poput Firefoxa 3.6.6, Thunderbirda 3.0.5, Dropboxa za online backup, Pidgin 2.7.1,  Ktorrent 4.0.1, Gimp 2.6.9, Digikam 1.3.0 , Amarok 2.3.1 , Smplayer i mnoge druge. kao dodatak, postoji preko 12,000 softverskih paketa na repozitorijumu. Treba znati da PCLinuxOS ne sadrži Win32codec-e ili libdvdcss2 softver po default-u jer se radi o američkoj Linux distribuciji. Glavne karakteristike nove verzije su:

Kao dodatak punoj KDE verziji postoji i MiniMe varijanta za one koji vole sami da upravljaju količinom aplikacija koje se instaliraju. Puna Gnome verzija ima sličan pandam u ZenMini verziji.

PCLinuxOS is a free easy to use Linux-based Operating System  for x86 desktops or laptops.

PCLinuxOS is distributed as a LiveCD, and can also be installed to your computer. The LiveCD mode lets you try PCLInuxOS without making any changes to your computer. If you like it, you can install the operating system to your hard drive. Locally installed versions of PCLinuxOS utilize the Advanced Packaging Tool (or APT), a package management system (originally from the Debian distribution), together with Synaptic, a GUI frontend to APT for easy software installation. PCLinuxOS has over 12,000 rpm software packages available from our software repository.

PCLinuxOS has a script called mylivecd, which allows the user to take a ‘snapshot’ of their current hard drive installation (all settings, applications, documents, etc.) and compress it into an ISO CD/DVD image. This allows easy backup of a user’s data and also makes it easy to create your own custom live CD/DVD.

PCLinuxOS has additional support for over 85 language through our simple Addlocale interface.

PCLinuxOS is safe and secure. You never have to worry about viruses, adware, malware or trojans infecting your computer with PCLinuxOS.
